Deborah Gibbins
Deborah
Gibbins was admitted as a solicitor on the 1st May 1985. She has been
specialising in family and matrimonial law since 1984. Before
setting up her own business Deborah Gibbins & Co on
1st January 1996
she worked in a small practice in Hockley, Essex where
at the age of 26 she became a partner and remained working at that firm
for 10 years specialising in family and matrimonial law.
She was the first female solicitor to set up a practice in
Basildon
and hers was the first practice to specialise
exclusively in matrimonial and family law.

Specialist
Qualifications and achievements
Deborah
Gibbins was admitted to the Family Law Panel on
1st January 1999
in the very first batch of admissions to this
specialist Law Society Panel. The
Panel was created so that clients could be assured that by instructing a
member of the Family Law Panel they would be receiving specialist family
law advice.
In May 2001 Deborah Gibbins became one of less than 500 solicitors in
the country to become accredited by the Solicitors Family Law
Association with particular specialism in areas of domestic abuse and
advanced financial provision. As
an accredited member of the Solicitors Family Law Association (now known
as Resolution) she remains committed to the guidelines of that
organisation in not only providing a quality family and matrimonial law
service but also in minimising conflicts that may arise in family law
proceedings.
Deborah Gibbins has
written an article entitled ‘Pensions
on Ancillary Relief- A Practitioners Guide’ which was published in
the Legal Journal Litigation.
Kevin Double
Kevin has been
specialising in matrimonial and family law work since 1981.
He is a member of the
Institute
of
Legal Executives
and has been employed as Litigation manager at Deborah
Gibbins & Co. since April 1997.
He has a wealth of
experience in dealing with family law and matrimonial cases and has during
his time with Deborah Gibbins & Co dealt with a Court of Appeal
case representing one of his clients on all procedural matters up to the
final court hearing at the Court of Appeal. His specialism includes dealing with care work in children
proceedings as well as all other areas of family and matrimonial law
covered by Deborah Gibbins & Co.
